MINUTES OF FLEA MOSS PIT COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT THE VILLAGE HALL, NORLEY ROAD, CUDDINGTON ON THUSDAY 17th NOVEMBER AT 7PM.

Present: Cllr Chivers - Chairman

Cllr Kerrigan

Cllr Nixon

Cllr Vincent

Mrs. Julie Chrimes – Clerk
Mr Martin Wright - Environmental Protection Practitioner, CWAC and Frances Clayton Senior Environmental Geologist, RSK.

1. Apologies. Cllr’s Jones.

2. Declaration of interest. Cllr Nixon declared a personal interest in Flea Moss Pit.

3. Ground Gas Survey on Flea Moss Pit. The Chairman reported that costs received from RSK relating to a Ground Gas Spiking survey would be £460.00 (exc.VAT) and £285.00 (exc. VAT) for continued ground gas monitoring in existing wells. The survey would be completed using a hand held soil “spike” to make soils depths of up to 1.0m.
Depending on the results of the ground gas spiking survey, additional monitoring work may not be necessary.
Shallow soil sampling - RSK confirmed that should the final use of allotments be decided for the site RSK would propose three further samples should be taken from shallow topsoil, this cost would normally be £600 however, RSK agreed to cover the cost for this piece of work. The Committee recommend to full Council that:
a) Advice is sought from Mr Martin Wright - Environmental Protection Practitioner CWAC, on how the Council should move forward with these matters.

4. Future of Flea Moss Pit. The Committee agreed that it is highly likely that allotments will be provided on Eden Grange, and therefore the committee recommend to full Council that:

a) The Council no longer look into the possibility of creating allotments at Flea Moss Pit.
b) The Council look into the option of creating a residential development on Flea Moss Pit, preferably for the elderly.
c) Approach Cllr Grimshaw to seek how to move forward with item 4b, including the strip of land at Flea Moss Pit.
d) Request confirmation from Taylor Wimpey what funding is available in place of the community building.

e) Request confirmation from Taylor Wimpey what provisions there will be provided relating to the proposed allotments i.e, Fencing, water points, a suitable pathway, and a toilet.

The meeting closed at 8.05pm
